Apprehensive about getting your child in the business?

The Hollywood Star Maker, Giveaway!

A winner will be chosen randomly from comments on my blog! Is it you?

Over the years, I have worked with parent clients that have adorable children that have the potential to do very well, in show biz.  However, the parents are apprehensive (fear) that their child will have difficulties in sustaining a positive self image.

It is true that some child celebrities have had a very difficult time transitioning to successful and confident adults. But, there are child celebrities that have done well in adulthood.  Many child celebrities have completed their college degrees, moved on from the entertainment business and have solid careers in another industry.  Also, some child celebrities have become directors, producers, or executives in the business.

Honestly, solid and balanced parenting of the child will be the key to their success into adulthood.  Parents whom have chosen to allow their children to work in the business have to be willing to take the extra steps to sustain normalcy.

For instance, I advise my clients to have their child participate in activities that have absolutely no connection with the entertainment business.  I encourage all of my clients to not make the business the most important thing in the child's life.  Recently, my 6 year old son, auditioning for a Big Movie with many well known actors.  Although, I was ectastic about it, I never let my son know it.  After the audition, he said, "Mommy I did my best and I said." SUPER, let's go get some Menchies Yogurt!"

Tubbs Tip of the Day

Release the Fear,

Life is about one step at a time, you do not have to see the entire staircase!
